If you’re anything like me, you have struggled with how to:
- Connect with your teen so you can actually spend quality time together without it being some dreadful chore.
- Communicate effectively so you can have a conversation without yelling, eye rolling or complete silence.
- Help and support them with their mental health challenges.
And isn’t
it time that we’re able to talk about teen mental health with a sense of normalcy without feeling any shame or guilt as a parent that you’re not doing enough, that somehow you’ve failed and that there’s something wrong?
It breaks my heart when I hear moms who tell me they feel: helpless, alone, shame, frustrated and overwhelmed. Their own mental health and wellbeing
is suffering because they’re giving everything to their teens and families and feel depleted, exhausted and burned out.
