Dear Friends and Wonderful Volunteers, As I look back on this year, my heart is overflowing with gratitude for each and every one of you. Your dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment have
lifted Autism Today in ways that words can hardly express. You’ve shown up with your time, your talent, and—most importantly—your hearts, helping us continue our mission to support families, professionals, and individuals in the autism community. Thank you for standing with us, believing
in our vision, and giving so much of yourselves to make a meaningful difference. We simply wouldn’t be where we are today without you. As we move into this special season, I want to wish you and your loved ones the warmest, brightest, and most joy-filled holidays. May this time bring you

As December arrives, we celebrate a season filled with light, warmth, and meaningful traditions around the world. We also know this time of year can bring sensory challenges and routine changes for autistic and neurodivergent individuals—as well as for families, caregivers, educators, and supporters. Please remember to honour your needs, find calm when you need it, and give yourself space to rest and recharge. We’re grateful for the unique strengths and perspectives you bring, and we hope this season offers moments of comfort, joy, and authenticity. Celebrating whatever you celebrate - whether it’s Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Bodhi Day, Pancha Ganapati, St. Nicholas Day, Las Posadas, Santa Lucia Day, Ōmisoka, Winter Solstice/Yule, another meaningful tradition, or even if you don’t celebrate anything at all - we’re wishing you peace and warmth in the days
ahead. Warmly, Karen
Book Spotlight Introducing Little Rainman Too! Autism Through the Eyes of My Child
We're so excited to share a look at Karen Simmons' revised book, "Little Rainman Too! Autism Through the Eyes of My Child"! With a beautiful foreword by Temple Grandin, this new, neurodiversity-affirming edition offers a truly unique perspective: the story is told by the autistic
child himself, Jonathan. Jonathan helps us understand the world through his senses, describing how he can see and hear better than most, but also how sounds like the blender or bright light humming can be overwhelming. He opens up about finding social things difficult, explaining that he struggles to focus on talking and playing at the same time. You'll read about the things that bring him joy, like spinning (which grown-ups call "stimming") and playing on his computer. This book is a powerful reminder that every autistic person has unique strengths and deserves acceptance and the chance to thrive. Jonathan's voice is full of honesty, warmth, and a deep desire to be liked and accepted for who he is. Pick up this beautiful book to understand autism from the heart! We'll keep you posted when the book is
available!
